Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the maiden flight between Shimla and New Delhi under government’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme, an endeavour to make regional connectivity easy.I want to see people who wear ‘Hawaii chappals’ (rubber slippers) in a ‘hawai jahaaz’ its the wording of PM of INDIA at the of launching the scheme.
All about the scheme:
UDAN scheme aims to provide air connectivity to the under-served and unserved airports of the country. This is a first-of-its-kind scheme in the world to “stimulate” regional connectivity in India through a “market-based mechanism. The scheme aims to connect 70 airports of the country. The first UDAN flight inaugurated by PM Modi would fly on Delhi-Shimla route.
