  • Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi invited by India as chief guest for Republic Day 2023
  • This would be the first time that an Egyptian President would be the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations. President Sisi earlier visited India in October 2015 for the 3rd India Africa Forum Summit, as well as in September 2016 on a State Visit as per MEA statement
  • World Bank Managing Director of Operations Axel van Trotsenburgin news as going to Dhaka Bangladesh
  • As India celebrating Azadi Amrit Mahotsav, an International seminar on Knowledge sharing of conservation of Natural and cultural heritage was organised by Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) in coordination with the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
    • Ambassador of India Naveen Shrivastav informed about GoI contribution in conserving cultural heritage in Kathmandu.

FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup:

  • The 2023 Men's FIH Hockey World Cup is the 15th edition of the Men's FIH Hockey World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national field hockey teams organized by the International Hockey Federation
  • The FIH Odisha Hockey Men's World Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar - Rourkela will be held in India from 13th January to 29th January 2023.
  • Total Days 17 days, 44 matches will be played.
  • Venues: 
    • Bhubaneswar's Kalinga Stadium and
    • Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium of Rourkela.
