New Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army: Dhoni and Bindra

Indian Army honour Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Abhinav Bindra with Lieutenant Colonel tag.

• Mahendra Singh Dhoni: Indian cricket captain,Indian skipper

• Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra are in the uniform of commandos.

• Both of us are conferred an honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army.

• They got the honour for their outstanding contribution in the field of sports and their commitment to the Army on various occasions.

 

 "It's a real honour for me as  I wanted to be part of the Indian Army. It's something that I always wanted to achieve as a kid and now that I have donned the olive greens, my dream has been fulfilled," said by Dhoni.

• Army chief General V K Singh,together with "Dhoni and Bindra.  at the South Block. 

• Dhoni and Bindra have been commissioned as honorary Lt Col.

NOTE:

• Dhoni will be representing the Parachute Regiment of the Indian Army 

• Bindra has joined a TA battalion of the Sikh Regiment .
